Thanks for the great insights, Brijdeep! I appreciate you encouraging us to understand and accept our truths, while realizing our investments in particular powers/institutions.

What an incredible process ! While I hope (and try) to stand tall in my truth, I don't think I can confidently respond to the quote - just yet. My day-to-day battles illustrate the ease in which my ego intercepts trust (in myself & others) and easily throws me off track. And while I am discovering and developing my values, I believe that I have a lifetime of growth to undergo before I can confidently answer the question.

Realizing that this is all a process, I am okay with where I am in my journey and am excited to find a new challenge to work towards !

As always, any suggestions, ideas, examples and anecdotes are welcome :)

First reaction? "Yes"

But the affirmation is not from some misplaced sense of courage or fervor. It is from the perspective that we all have the choice to choose our battles. Sometimes it may make to sense to stand your ground, come what may and other times it might be prudent to leave the battle and fight another day. I feel this point is one of the most important if you want to stand in a battle and still win a war.

How can we stand the ground in our truths?
Well first we need to fully understand what our truth is. Then we need to fully accept it, with complete belief. It has to pierce the core of your being, it has to remove any doubt of any kind in your own mind. Until then, there is no point in standing up and going for a battle, you will not last your ground.

Also, on the point of "challenged by strongest powers". Vested interests and powers are only strong if you think of them as such. If you look behind the facade, you will find a lot of insecurity and selfish motives. Also, you already have all the powers that are need, you just haven't realized them yet.

Very heartfelt words. In our family something happened and someone close was "excommunicated". It pained me a lot seeing how quickly we can break lifetimes of bonds, but with the grace of Guruji the process of healing has started. A few brave souls have to rise up against it and all it takes is one person to put their foot down against injustice.

What about the trauma and pain that existed before colonial times? Everyone thinks that they lived in utopia before Europeans came but it's just a fantasy and easy scapegoat. Indians are the most notorious for propagating myths of glorious pasts with no pain etc... It's ok to mention but be realistic. There are so many things wrong with India that were there long before anyone else had a chance to mess with you. It's an old world.

beautiful entry... thank you for sharing your reflections. I certainly agree that the trauma our sisters and ancestors have endured are very much with us today. If we look around, at the state of our earth, of our world, we can see how the pain and trauma inflicted upon generations of women manifests all around us.. in all the guilt, the anger, the war, the pain, the disaster...

I stand by you in working to channel these energies and heal the wounds of our ancestors and, in doing so, ourselves.

very well put Amrita, and I really like your father's saying- guess you (we) have to "be the change, you want to see in the world", and it really comes down to staring these changes internally in ourselves - our own hearts, thoughts and mind.

I also really like how you narrowed it down to the simple things in life - because just a smile, or lending a helping hand can not only make the day for someone else, but it truly impacts your own day and mindset I find.
